Analog Telephone Adaptors (ATAs)
Analog Telephone Adaptors are used to convert existing telephone hardware to make them compatible with modern VoIP networks. All the devices below are FXS gateways, the most common, used for devices that would normally connect to the old PSTN telephone network.
ATAs are commonly used to allow existing hardware to gain the benefits of VoIP system or to allow that hardware to continue to be used following the PSTN network being shut down due to the NBN rollout:
- replace PSTN lines running into an existing PBX to gain the benefits of VoIP without needing to replace any other hardware
- connect fax machines to allow continuing sending faxes after the PSTN shutdown
- connect existing cordless phones to a VoIP PBX
All the Grandstream ATAs are supported by the AFOYI VoIP Configuration tool which is included with all monthly or yearly subscription plans.
The HT801 is a single port gateway, the HT812 is a two port gateway, the HT814 is a four port gateway and the HT818 is an eight port gateway. All the Grandstream ATAs allow configuring each port separately and support any combination either fax machines or telephone devices like PBXs, wired or cordless phones on each port.
